Much Needed Update

Hi, Hello, This is Steph.
(Lol)

Goodness, It seems like its been forever since I've written. I am deeply sorry for those of you who read or who I promised a full article on. I have had a rough past 2 months. "What happened in your last 2 months, Steph?" Oh...you know....leaving town....leaving the state and traveling cross country by car.....having things happen and such. Long story short, don't drink every night and always know what's going on.

I shall leave all that in the past and now the future awaits me.

I shall post more articles and reviews later on this next week hopefully.

I hope all is well with all of you and have a wonderful weekend.

*With Love and Respect,
Steph

Personal Awareness

When fear comes to mind most think of killers, death itself, mold (odd but true) and some get scared of scary movies themselves. Most will stay up at night with this fear on their mind and lose precious time of rest. Well, at least I did a couple nights ago. I wasn't scared of these things I just spoke of. I wasn't fearing for my life to be saved due to a killer or movie. The thought that kept me awake was of the unknown. My fear that night was simple and consisted of one word.
Cancer.

I went through a whole night and day of the thought that I had some type of cancer. The feeling of sickness overcame me and I was unable to eat, sleep, or think straight. I began to imagine what procedures I'd need in order to fight against this cancer and I began to fear for my life. This fear overcame me so strongly that when I was in the doctors office, I was on the brink of passing out. When the doctor came in, my emotion was anxious. I didn't want her to beat around the bush, I wanted to know what my results were and wanted the truth to be out in the open to deal with. Then it happened. The doctor told me the most beautiful words I've ever heard. She told me that I was fine and clean of any type of cancer. I felt a wave of relief and just this huge, overbearing weight lifted from me. Even though I was fine, it was a very eye opening experience.

I personally dedicate this article to the cancer that my mother had but never claimed. The cancer that she fought through and made her a much stronger person. I highly recommend that you, my readers, do research on this type of cancer and other many diseases that effect and take the lives of millions a day, such as colon, lung, and bladder cancer.

Breast Cancer
This cancer makes me feel weak and feel powerless. This cancer was once inside my mother and grew inside her to form the size of a dime. This cancer took the lives of 40,000 women and it became 192,370 new women's diagnoses last year (2009). After being diagnosed, a few steps are involved next. Surgery to remove the cancer cell and the lymph nodes around it (for testing), chemotherapy/radiation to kill any additional cells that may be hiding or be shown and then after being healed, you can have additional surgery for reconstruction. The most important key to this cancer is prevention and detection. Do monthly checks to yourself and if you suspect anything, take the time to visit a doctor as soon as possible.

Book Review

Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk

As a reader I had heard of Chuck Palahniuk but I never read any of his books even though I was certainly intrigued. Many of you, my readers, may know him from his book/movie "Fight Club". When I first got this book in 2008, I overlooked it. I put it on the shelf and I deprived myself of pure talent and raw emotions. This book has opened up my understanding of what it's like to be in a cult. It makes me grateful to have my family and friends that love and care about me, as I do for them. This book has showed me that if the world is trying to change you, and you happen to give in, you're still the same person only you'll have more experience and be a tad more cynical. I highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind language and unexpected turns.

A little preview in my own words:
(Don't worry, I don't give much)
Tender Branson, a hard working failure. Born in a Creedish church district colony family. He was the first child to leave his "Amish-type" lifestyle at the age of 17. His whole life was planned out and there was no room for argument. With a lifetime of work on his resume, he has quite a few skills that most people wouldn't dream of having. From cooking veal to patching up gun shot holes in a wall. It seems like he has the answer for everything.
"You wanna know how to get bloodstains out of wallpaper?",he'll ask. He'll push you with a simple, "No, really, go ahead and ask me." Then he'll respond. "Put on a paste of cornstarch and cold water. The trick is to forget how fast these things can happen. Suicides. Accidents. Crimes of passion."
"To stand here and try and fix her life is just a big waste of time. People don't want their lives fixed. Nobody wants their problems solved. Their dramas. Their distractions. Their stories resolved. Their messes cleaned up. Because what would they have left? Just the big scary unknown."-Ch. 46 Pg. 282

6 Things I Stalk on Youtube

We've all been there.
We are online at a time where young children are sleeping and we are in the mood for some kind of entertainment. Some may resort to certain sites with naughty images/videos, while others are playing WoW or COD MW. As for myself, I like to go onto Youtube and watch people's creativity. On Youtube, you can pretty much make a video about almost anything and get subscribers, views, and ratings. The following Youtube channels have captured my eye and I want to share them with you, my reader. (Click the red links to watch the videos)

I was introduced to this channel by my cousin Monique in November of 2009 and I have been addicted ever since. This channel is really random. When I feel a tad bit down, I watch this channel and it makes me feel a whole lot better. Mitchell Davis, the main face of LiveLavaLive, has different personalities (but not in a Bi-polar' way). He has ADD and says what is on his mind and makes over 400 thousand subscribers laugh and feel awesome. He also is his own camera man and editor. To get started, I'd recommend watching the following videos;

KassemG....what can I say about this man that makes you able to understand how interesting and how hilarious his videos are? From him dressing in drag and naming himself "Jazzy" to him making out with an elderly woman, he truly keeps you on your toes. He himself makes ports on his station. The first is "Awkward Moments" where he creates moments that could possibly be awkward and completely flips it upside down. A great example of this is in his video "High School Crush", where he runs into a high school crush and things are definitely not as expected. His second port is "Going Deep", where he interviews pornstars. Check this one out where he interviews "Dana DeArmond". And last but not least, his third port is "California on.." where he goes to various beaches in Southern California and he randomly interviews strangers about a topic. My favorite is "California on Drugs" where he asks people how they feel about drugs. I hope you like these videos.

To my ladies, have you ever wondered how to do your makeup in a professional or glamorous style? This makeup artists has made it easy to answer almost all your questions. She makes different tutorials on either eyeshadows, full face, themed makeup, and product reviews. Check out her how-to makeup tutorial in a "Tim Burton" style. Want something a little more brighter? Try her "Summer Sunset" tutorial. I have learned a thing or two from this lovely woman, I hope you enjoy creating your own look.

When it comes to funny things, I like to visit Toby's site. I'm sure that you've heard of Farmville. If not, farmville is an app on facebook where you grow things on a digital farm. Anywho, this guy has made a humorous video about it. I couldn't stop watching it for about a week. Check it out here,"Farmville". He also makes literal trailers. One for instance is the "Tron Legacy" where he says everything that is going on in the trailer. For you Twilight fans, check out his "Twilight Eclipse" literal trailer, its quite interesting.

Do you love english accents like I do? Do you like twilight like I do? Do you enjoy when english accents read twilight and somewhat make fun of it? Well..I do. Alex has recorded himself reading almost all of twilight but totally makes fun of it. I enjoy this because it gives a different view on what twilight sounds like. If you want to enjoy his videos, start at "Chapter one". On a side note, he also is in a band and he has different songs at his website here "Alex Day Music".

From my last blog, I feel I have to add a musical site in the mix. I introduce you to Milc. This is a site where a group of guys have collaborated together to form an awesome electro/house mix. One of the members is Mr. F(antastic). I personally enjoy his mixes because most are quite mellow but get your body moving. For example, check out "Dubstep Session at Shift". If you enjoy him, check out his personal youtube channel "Mr.F". Another member of this channel is Sigma. Sigma has a unique sound to him. He's raw and full of energy and life. For example, check out "Set at NorCal Rave". If you like what you hear, whether it be Mr. F or Sigma, and want to download their mixes, go to their "Soundcloud" site.

Sharing these channels with you, my reader, has been a pleasure. Your laughter was my key goal when it came to Kassem talking to strangers and your curiosity was the goal when it came to Milc's music.
I certainly hope that you will come back, follow, or comment this blog, as I am currently in the works of making additional articles/blogs on a much more personal level. Also, if you could, would you please pass my blog **stephrxqueen.blogspot.com** along to a friend. My future blogs will surely appreciate it. I don't want to give away what I am planning but I certainly don't want you to miss what is in store. Thank you for your time and thoughts.

Artists/(Musicians)/Bands Who Captivate Steph

(Scene: Steph is in her twin bed as she is waking up)
*Rubs eyes, pulls out earbuds and stretches*
Good day world.
From the moment I wake up...I have music flowing through my ears...into my brain. All night I play music to soothe me to sleep and after I take a shower in the morning/afternoon, I have music flowing into my veins all day to boost my energy. Music is a part of me and who I am.

In this blog, I will share with you different artists/musicians/bands who are so much a part of my life, without them...I'd be listening to Lady Gag Gag and Justine Bieber. (I'm sorry if you happen to like these individuals)

The Deftones: In Mid 2006, I was introduced to them fully by a very good friend of mine named Brandon. As time went on, I grew to love them. To this day, I didn't think that I would love them as much as I do but this love for them is so deep, I can't stop it nor do I want to. The first song I heard by the -tones was "Change (in the house of flies)" and I loved how dark and emotional it was. Later, I was turned on by "Minerva". "Minerva" was one of the most passionate songs I fell for. Soon after, I was hooked on "RxQueen" along with "MX". Before I named myself "RxQueenSteph" I was originally "The RmX Queen". (A combination of the songs "Rx Queen" and "MX"). All of the songs that the Deftones have beautiful created have been like water to my soul. I couldn't live without them.

City and Colour: I have only recently (In the past year) been listening to this fine band. I have to thank my good friend Toni from Modesto, CA for the introduction to them. C&C has the lovely acoustic feel to them along with the great voice of Dallas Green (Co-singer of Alexisonfire). The songs are very happily tempo-ed but the lyrics are very realistic. One of my favorite songs by them is "Sensible Heart" and the way this song makes my soul feel is like a breath of fresh air. If you would like a more uplifting song, try "Constant Knot", its beautiful. Enjoy!

Bohren & der Club of Gore: This group has a very special place in my heart. This band I have fallen asleep to more times than any other band and I wake up completely happy. This band has a dark edge to them while not saying a single word. Yus, that's right, no words. This is an instrumental band and they play nothing but pianos, saxophones, guitars, bass, drums, fender rhodes, tuba, bass-trombone, and vibraphone. I usually listen to this band in the Fall and Winter months because I like to listen to them when it rains. If you're interested in a song, try listening to "Constant Fear", "Prowler", and "Maximum Black". Those are my favorites.

Thom Yorke (Singer of Radiohead): I fell for this artist before I knew who he was. I've always been a fan of Radiohead but I never knew who the singer was. It wasn't until "The Twilight Saga:New Moon" soundtrack came out and I heard "Hearing Damage". When I heard that song, I was in love and wanted more. I love the song "Harrowdown Hill" along with "The Clock". Now, when it comes to Radiohead, I love "Talk Show Host" and "Idioteque". I feel this artist has such a high amount of skill that you can hear it in his voice. For this reason, he'll always be a favorite.

I have now shared with you, my reader, a tiny preview of what my vault of music consists of. I hope that you will be as open to music as I am. Find music, seek it daily. I understand that there were only 4 artists on my list of favorites. Please understand that I can't possibly put every single artist/band who happens to soothe me, uplift me, or get my blood flowing. If I did, this list would go on forever and ever and ever....and ever.
If you have any suggestions for me on music or a new topic I should cover, please feel free to comment bellow and please "Follow" me. Your support is greatly appreciated.
